Scanning
How to Scan and Email Photos
Preview your scanner settings and set the following if your scanner allows:
Choose the "color photo" setting even for black and white photos.
Do not select enhancements such as color correction, contrast, brightness etc.
Set resolution quality to "High Quality". If you can set the dpi (dots per inch) set
them at 300 to 600dpi. 600 dpi is recommended for prints smaller than 5"X7".
Click the preview button. Click and drag the scanner guides around the image.
Only the image should be scanned, not the blank space around it.
Click the scan button. When the scanner stops inspect the scan results and save
the image as a jpeg file with the "highest quality" setting under "image options".
If your scanner lacks any or all of the above settings scan at "highest quality".
Emailing your scanned image(s)
Open your email program and compose a letter with a description of the image
editing services you would like. Then "attach" the image(s) by clicking
"attach" and selecting the image(s) that you just scanned from the "browse"
files window.
